- One course dish: Baccelli e pecorino, fava beans with pecorino cheese; baccelli e spalla, fava beans and pork cold cuts, shoulder; porchetta, roasted pork;
- Side dish: fagioli bianchi, cannellini beans
Back in the time, during past centuries, in the Tuscan countryside, nobody used to drink coffee at breakfast. Coffee, sweet pastries, cappuccino, which nowadays are so much linked to the Italian food culture, well all these delights were completely unknown to Tuscan peasants, who instead used to make breakfast with onions, bread, and leftover of the previous dinner as minestra di pane, bread soup, for instance.
And that's the genial idea of this special feast, to go back with a sort of huge peasant time machine and, from 8 am, offer the possibility to have a real old style peasant breakfast, with tripe, baccelli fava beans, pecorino cheese and spalla, pork shoulder ham. This should help you to face perfectly the new day! Which will be rather challenging: music concerts, a market, dj set, and a series of pleasant events.
For lunch, a choice of food as a grilled meat ("brace" means "grilled" and it will be tasty, whatever meat it is), and other food stands all long the day will keep you busy till sunset, in one of the most beautiful Tuscan places, Volterra.
