Strozzapreti is a pasta typical of the ancient peasant world and it's popular in many Italian regions, from North to Central and South Italy, with some variations. Here in Maremma area, their shape reminds somehow a thick pici pasta, a famous south Tuscan first course. A meat sauce will be perfect to go with the succulent strozzapreti which are the flagship product of this festival; notice though, that in the menu there is also tortelli maremmani, a sort of Tuscan big ravioli, which are absolutely wonderful; difficult choice!

As second courses, a large range of Tuscan grilled meat will be at disposal, just as tripe with tomato sauce, sausages and beans with tomato sauce, and a dish with cold cuts and cheese. Popular Tuscan side dishes are also the white cannellini beans, with a simple olive oil seasoning; or cooked in tomato sauce. Among desserts, the crostata with fruits jam: you probably already know it, because it's served in many, if not all, Italian bar and cafes, in small or big dimension; but we're sure that the crostata made in Sticciano will be as good as a crostata can be - this means, really a lot!
