Original name: Festa dello Sport (was Sagra del Cinghiale)

Place: Rispescia, a small hamlet in the municipality of Grosseto, Grosseto province, Maremma area.

First year of the festival: 1985.

Period: last end of June - end of July, Friday Saturday and Sunday, on consecutive weekends.

Opening times: only dinner, from 7.30 pm.

2023 scheduled on: Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday of July

Local Specialities:

• First courses: acquacotta (typical soup), panzanella, tortelli with wild boar sauce (tortelli al sugo di cinghiale)
• Second courses: grilled meat (carne alla griglia)

Acquacotta, a soup, it’s a symbol of southern Tuscany. As other Tuscan and Italian soups, it was a staple of poors and lower classes’ diet. Mostly based on vegetables, acquacotta is added with Pecorino cheese and eggs. The very refreshing panzanella is a favorite in summer: made with Tuscan bread, tomato, onions and olive oil. Other traditional dishes in the menu are grilled meat and tortelli with wildboar sauce.

The name of this sagra is now "Festa dello Sport" which means "Sport Festival" but don't lose your hope: it's about the same good old Wildboar festival "Sagra del Cinghiale", with the great wonderful south Tuscany local dishes, the "piatti tipici maremmani" as explained on the new poster.
